Q.  FOREIGN ORDERS
A.

We ship foreign orders every day. You must contact your Agricultural Office (Or other related authority) and determine if we are required to send a Phytosanitary Certificate with your order. If it is required, we must have your items inspected by the U. S. Department of Agriculture and upon their approval we will be issued the certificate there is a fee associated that varies with country and requirements, that we must pay for the inspection so that, of course, would be added to your cost. Every country is different in their policies concerning restrictions. Usually the need for a Phytosanitary certificate pertains only to plants and bulbs, but there are many exceptions. You must advise us if the Phytosanitary Certificate is required. If we send the order without the certificate, it is possible that your order will be opened and the contents destroyed. We are not responsible if you have not advised us. You can send a brief message to us in the COMMENT SECTION of the ORDER PAGE. Also, note that some countries require that you obtain an import permit from your Agriculture department

SEEDS PER PACKET

A.

The number of seeds is indicated per item, but since there are over 5,700 items listed there are many counts per item to choose from. (We will custom package any quantity that you wish, as long as it is over our minimum stated per species.)

Q. THE ORDERING PAGE
A.

It is imperative that all of the blank spaces are used. If you are in a region - or in a country that does not have a zip code you simply type into the space a repeating letter such as xxxx, or jjjj. This can be done with any of the spaces that are blank. IF you are reluctant to send your charge card number via the Internet, you may mail, FAX, or Call your order in to us - always make a copy of your order for your records and well as to include with any correspondence.

Why is there a delay in shipping my order? To ensure the highest quality seed, we test all of our seed for germination, vigor/vitality, and some seeds are sent to PCR testing (Polymerase chain reaction) genetic tests.  Occasionally, we will take very large orders, and our available stock will be reduced.  When this occurs, we will inform you of any delays, any loss of availability, or other stoppages in the fulfillment chain of your order.  We will ship seeds in a single package, if applicable, however, some larger order, orders placed at different time, or multiple orders may be fulfilled separately.  If your order must be shipped in separate shipment, this will normally be done free of charge.  However, if there is to be a charge for separate shipping, you will be informed prior to the completion and fulfillment of your order.  Please email or contact us with any concerns.

Q. GROWING INSTRUCTIONS

Data Sheets are included with all orders, for all items within your order. (These will be included as a sheet or a link to the page on our website. Additionally, you have the opportunity to down load the information in either Adobe Acrobat or Text (PDF or TXT) format for your use.

Q. SOIL REQUIREMENTS
A.

Generally, we provide items that should be grown in well draining types of soil. One of the most common growing problems is failure due to the use of compost or quality soil. We never recommend the use of "standard potting soil". We would hope that you would use SOIL MIXES - Soil that has a MIXTURE of different components such as compost, some peat, perlite, or any components that create a soil that is more airy, nutrient rich, and does not consume energy to create. Please consider switching to SOIL MIXES if you have been using standard potting soil.

Q. WHAT IS MY ORDER NUMBER?
A.

Your order number is preceded by CTSCO-When you check out of your shopping cart and submit your order your order number is displayed as the final step in the order process, also we email you an order confirmation. Additionally, you will receive an email with your Invoice number, this is NOT your order number, but a number that will correspond to the sale after all portions of the transaction have been completed.

Q. SHIPPING COSTS
A.

The weight of some seeds may be quite heavy and will affect the shipping cost. Sometimes the weights of the rhizomes of the Gingers and Bamboo can exceed 1 lb per item; as can larger orders of Beans, Palm, Cycads, Walnuts, and other large nuts. That will cause the shipping rate to be obviously higher than listed. Also, keep in mind that requests for orders to be sent via UPS, FedEx, DHL, or any other dedicated carrier service are much higher.

Q. HOW DO I GET A PRINTED CATALOG FROM YOU?
A.

Catalpa Tree Seed Company no longer prints a catalog; you can find our complete inventory online. We do not believe in the waste of paper. Everything that you will need is located on the website, as well as in PDF (Adobe Acrobat Format) that you can download with all of the items and quantities that we currently carry, as well as have access to. However, in some circumstances, we will generate a price list for our items for those with limited or no Internet connectivity.  Please email for more information.

Q. I ORDERED TWICE BY ACCIDENT...

We have a state of the art order entry system. If your order seems unusual or in any way unclear, we will contact you immediately to resolve the issue. To ensure timely contact or notification, please make sure to include your email AND daytime Phone Number.

Q. I LOST OR FORGOT WHAT I ORDERED...?
A.

Your order is saved in our shopping cart (All information EXCEPT CREDIT CARD INFORMATION), and may be retrieved by logging in to our website. Additionally, a copy of your order was sent to you automatically after you submitted your order and checked out. Check your email you should have received it several minutes after placing your order.

Q. HELP MY SHOPPING CART IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY...

For the shopping cart function without any errors, your browser must have cookies enabled, we use only session cookies, please do not worry, there is no identifiable information stored within this cookie. Otherwise, the shopping cart will not hold more then one item at a time and will not calculate quantity or price correctly. The information contained in the cookie is for this session only, and contains only the pages visited, the contents of your cart, and number or items per item you wish to order.  As a session cookie, this will expire as soon as you leave the Catalpa Tree Seed Company website.

Catalpa Tree Seed Company’s’ Privacy Policy: The security of your information, transactions, and order history is the core of our business and our top priority. Catalpa Tree Seed Company is committed to protecting your privacy. This means that we will not distribute, sell, or rent your name or personal information about you to any third party - period. Security Policy: Shopping cart system automatically encrypts your confidential information in transit from your computer to ours using the Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) with an encryption key length of 128-bits. Before you even register or log in to our site during the checkout process, our server checks that you are using an approved browser - one that uses SSL 3.0 or higher. Once your information is transmitted to us, it resides on a server that is heavily guarded both physically and electronically (We have state of the art firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and physical restrictions in place on all computer storage equipment, as well as order processing equipment.). Our servers sit behind a constantly updated electronic firewall and are not directly connected to the Internet. Intrusion detection software is in place to alert us to any attempt to access our systems. This ensures your private information is available only to authorized entities. If you still are not comfortable ordering online you can phone fax or email your order to us. (PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL CREDIT CARD INFORMATION. While our servers are secure, your ISP and other routers may not be.

Q. DID YOU GET MY ORDER?
A.

Please check your email, your order confirmation was sent to you. Also when you ordered and you clicked the submit order button as your last step the next screen you should have seen should have said "Your order has been submitted! Your order number is #CTSCO-XXXXX and your Invoice number is #XXXXXXX please refer to these numbers in any further correspondence.

Q. EMAIL: SPAM, JUNK, OTHER
A.

CTSCO will never email you unless we are confirming an order, notifying you of a change of status or contacting you for an order related issue.  However, email that we do send to you may be marked as junk, spam or potential spam due to the structure of the Internet, and hte various routers involved with email transmission.  Occasionally, one or more of these routers will be marks as 'Open' or on a Black-list, if this happens, your ISP or email provider may flag the email as Spam or junk and not deliver it, delete it without your knowledge, or move it to a Spam or Junk Mail folder.  We are not able to control this, and we work hard to ensure that our servers are secure, not on any Black-List, or otherwise compromised i any way.  If you do not receive emails confirming your order, shipment notifications, or replies to your email sent to us, please check your email client, as well as with your ISP to ensure that we are not marked on your end as being blocked.  If you have concers about the email, or are not receiving email, please contact us at 609-714-9635
