Small and big flowers add beauty to a small backyard. But if you have enough space to plant for a bigger plant like a tree, why not put flowering landscape trees to add beauty to your backyard. And because most of the flowering landscape trees are naturally attractive, many homeowners are also put these trees in their front yard as well.
When it comes to flowering landscape trees, you have a lot of choices to choose from. Of course, each region also has its own popular tree to boast. Just like in the southern region of America, the most famous choice when it comes to flowering landscape trees is the Crape Myrtles. They like to have this kind of tree in their own homes because the blooming period starts from the mid-summer and ends during the fall. So the vibrant flowers that are colored in lavender, pink, red, and white is something that they can display outside for a long period of time. These flowers are usually in clusters that appear at the tip of the Crape Myrtles’ new wood. Aside from the regions at the South, those who are living at the Northern area may also use the Crape Myrtles as their landscape trees. However, the tree dies during the winter but it would eventually bloom once the spring comes.
But not all flowering landscape trees look dull during the fall season. There are actually two tree species under the dogwoods that look stunning during the spring and even during the fall. These are the Cornus Kousa and Cornus Florida. The Cornus Kousa is also known as the Japanese Flowering Dogwood. Aside from the captivating white flowers, the Japanese Flowering also has cherry-like fruits that are usually eaten by squirrels and birds. On the other hand, the Cornus Florida looks almost the same as the Cornus Kousa. Their only difference is the color of the fruit since the fruits of the Cornus Florida are more orange in color.
And don’t forget the flowering landscape trees that belong to the family of Mimosa. One of the most popular Mimosa tree is called the Mimosa Pudica. This kind of flowering landscape tree is noted because of the way its leaves fold every time it is touched or it is exposed to heat. More often than not, the trees that belong to the Mimosa family are seen in countries like Uruguay, Mexico, and areas located in Central America.
Other than that, the tree called the Serviceberry would also be an ideal accessory for your backyard or even in your front yard too. This is a small flowering landscape tree that has attractive small white flowers which only lasts during the spring. The Serviceberry or Saskatoon in other countries, is common in most parts of America because it grows easily and does not require so much maintenance. If you want to enhance the look of your Serviceberry, all you have to do is to plant it in front of a dark background (i.e. your brick fence) so that it the flowers would be more visible to everyone’s eyes.
