Tropical Trees

Humans love to live in a place where the weather is cool and the temperature is very comfortable. That is why many also thought that trees and other plants also want the same thing as well. Contrary to what they think of, there are some trees that can grow on tropical countries as well. It is not limited to the infamous cactus alone which became an icon for humid temperature such as the desert.

One of the most popular trees when it comes to tropical regions is the coconut tree. As a matter of fact, when people think about a summer escapade or a trip to the Caribbean, it is the coconut trees that first thing that they would think of. Coconut tree is indeed the most famous summer icon. The so-called tree of life can live in regions where warm climate is dominant. Even if the sun is striking hot, the coconut trees can survive even if you do not water it that often. This is why it is nice to have coconut trees if you have extra space in your backyard or if you own a ranch in a tropical region. There is no need to spend s much effort and time in maintaining the said tree. Aside from that, you will also get to earn a lot from it especially if you have planted tons of coconut trees. You can actually make money by creating products out of the different parts of the coconut tree starting from its roots up to its leaves.

On the other hand, if you do not want to take care of a gigantic fruit-bearing tree while living in a tropical region, you still have more options to choose from. This includes the ylang-ylang or what others also call as the Cananga odorata. Pronounced as ee-lang ee-lang, this is a tree that does not bear any kind of fruit. However, it produces flowers that would give off mild yet alluring scent by the time it blooms. Perfume enthusiasts would surely recognize the scent of the ylang-ylang since Coco Chanel made it famous by creating a perfume inspired from the said tree which he called the Channel No. 5.  This type of tree is very common in countries located at the Pacific Islands and Asia including Philippines, India, and even in Malaysia.

All kinds of citrus trees can also live in tropical regions as well. Usually, these citrus trees and its fruits are commonly found in Eastern Asia. But there are also places in United States where citrus trees are planted including Florida. As of today, Florida is considered as the main producer of citrus fruits including oranges, lemons, and key lime. Behind it is Brazil, another place with warm climate. However, not all types of citrus trees can tolerate the high temperature. There are some kinds of lime that requires lower temperature than the other fruits of its kind. But they all have one thing in common and that is being sensitive to the cold temperature since these trees are meant to be planted and live at warm regions.
